Hull#21 We
knew that the MC30 was the boat for us when we first saw it
(and met Dick) at the St Pete boat show in 2000. It took us
several years to get our life and geography to a place that
we could have a boat - all the while looking for one that
was better than the MC30. Nothing even came close, so when
the time was right, we got our MC30.
I had a wonderful time sailing my Maine Cat 30 with Captain
Ralph from New England to our home in Sarasota. We had a
fast trip of 13 days with no anxiety during the rough
weather. Although it was November, the roll-down curtains
kept us comfortable even during the North'ers. When we got
to warmer weather, it was a delight to roll up the curtains
for the warm fresh air. The Strikeshield lightning rod will
not quite make it under the railroad lift bridge on the
cross Florida water way (Don't ask me how I know this) but
it is nothing that a 2 minute trip up the mast can't fix.
We are looking forward to cruising the Gulf of Mexico, Dry
Tortugas, Bahamas, and maybe someday Cuba too.
We'd be happy to show our boat to anyone interested in the
Sarasota area.
